Background
Advanced Supply Chain offers a complete end-to-end supply chain service, from source to shelf, covering all aspects of supply chain management, global logistics, fulfilment and value-added services.
Already using the platform to secure on-demand contractors, the Advanced supply chain group were keen to start using the Connected2 platform to build up their employed driver workforce too at some key sites for them.
Andy Heart, Transport Manager for the North wanted to bring in a full-time employed driver into the team to operate from their site in Oldham. Historically this has been a challenging site to recruit for and the ability to Andy and his team to work with the driver, while they familiarise themselves with the work and the team for drivers to assess the day to day activities was a perfect fit for both sides.

Connected2 does not have a time limit on when a contract driver can be offered a full-time contract with a company. This position was advertised as a temp to perm position on the Connected2 platform and Gareth was invited to an assessment through the Connected2 platform.
Gareth’s main focus is on shunting trips between Oldham and Bradford. Andy and his team in Bradford were able to send out shifts through the Connected2 platform directly to Gareth. From his app, Gareth was able to accept these shifts and submit his hours and any receipts directly to the transport office - helping everyone to work closely, building a strong working relationship from the start.
After working together for 6 weeks Andy and his team felt comfortable with offering Gareth a full-time position and Gareth knows the work, the team and what is required day-to-day. There have been no additional transfer fees incurred.
